Need help with Lexiqo? Find answers to common questions and learn how to get the most out of the game.
How to play
Lexiqo is a semantic word game. Each day, a new secret word is hidden. Your goal is to find it by guessing words and receiving "heat" scores that indicate how semantically close your guess is to the secret word.
- Type a word you think might be close to the secret word.
- Receive a heat score: Hot (very close), Warm (close), Cool (far), or Cold (very far).
- Use the heat feedback to refine your guesses and find the word of the day.
Frequently asked questions
How is the heat score calculated?
The heat score measures semantic similarity, not spelling similarity. We use AI to compare the meaning of your guess with the secret word. Words with similar meanings score higher, regardless of how they're spelled.
Can I play in multiple languages?
Yes! Lexiqo supports English, French, Spanish, Czech, and Slovak. Each language has its own daily puzzle. You can switch languages at any time.
When does the new puzzle appear?
A new puzzle is available every day at midnight UTC. All players get the same word on the same day.
Is there a limit to the number of guesses?
Currently, there's no hard limit on the number of guesses per puzzle. You can keep trying until you find the word or give up.
Can I see my previous games?
Yes! Your game history is saved locally on your device. You can view your past guesses and scores for each puzzle.
Troubleshooting
The app won't load the puzzle
Check your internet connection. If you're offline, you can still view your game history, but you'll need a connection to load new puzzles or submit guesses.
My guess isn't being accepted
Make sure you're entering a valid word (letters only, accents are allowed). The word must exist in the language you're playing. Try checking your spelling or using a different word.
The heat score seems wrong
Remember that Lexiqo measures semantic similarity, not spelling. Words that mean similar things will score higher, even if they look very different. For example, "ocean" and "sea" would both score high for a word related to water.
